Taina has a BFA in Printmaking and a BS in Biology from the University of Connecticut. She has spent her life making images.  She exhibited work in numerous DC galleries throughout the 1980’s including Addison-Ripley, Wallace Wentworth, Washington Project for the Arts and the Washington Women’s Arts Center and since then at the American University Museum with the Alper Initiative for Washington Art, the Foundry Gallery and the Maryland Federation of Art.

She is currently a board member of ASCRL, the American Society for Collective Rights Licensing. Her volunteer work with professional organizations began with serving as Executive Director of the Washington Women’s Arts Center, 1982-84.  Since then she served six years on the Board of Directors of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators (GNSI), as National President and as Treasurer, as local GNSI Chapter President, and four years on the Board of the Vesalius Trust.
